Walk with the lions

I had only heard about "walk with the lions" and I was all so excited when I actually got to witness in during my vacation in Mauritius.

I was all brave when we enrolled for it but when I saw these huge lions walking towards me, my heart skipped a beat. I don't know what happened after that cause I began walking with lions and there were these two guys who accompanied me. One of them was the caretaker of the lions and the other was a guide.

I was shocked to hear that they are cubs and each weighed about 100+ kgs. And they were just 15-18 months old. They were soooo adorable and I was cautious not to be all excited and regret later ;-)

So, I explicitly mentioned to the caretaker that I would love to play with them. He must have thought that I was crazy or something. They were behaving like these huge dogs and enjoyed things like the belly rub. Giving them a belly rub was the best part of the whole walk and it was fun bonding with these lions.

It was amazing to see how these lions easily climbed trees and the guard joked saying "most ppl think they can be safe from a lion if they get onto the tree" and believe me thats not going to happen. Another interesting fact was that I was not asked to walk ahead of them. I guess who can question the "king of the jungle" ;-)
This was the highlight of my vacation in Mauritius apart from the undersea walk which was awesome.

Children make our world beautiful

Childhood is the best part of anyone's life. Being carefree and not bothered about anything. They are surrounded by positive energy and when stocked on sugar they get all hyper as well as crazy.

Kids are the best thing in this world cause they bring in so much of happiness and hope. I was having coffee some time ago and spotted these kids playing on the streetside. They looked so happy and content playing with a couple of cardboard boxes or thermocol sheets. I wanted to take their picture cause they looked so wonderful playing together. Despite not having expensive toys, nice clothes and education they were really enjoying themselves. They seemed like they had a no reason to complain.

I also ended buying them something to eat and took their pictures. It was amazing to capture their spirit and made me realize that life is not as bad as we feel sometimes. God bless all the children and I would someday definetly try to assist kids who cant afford education in whichever way I can.
